My Day at that Big Foshan Spa Place
Alright, so I finally dragged myself over to that huge spa complex in Foshan everyone’s been yapping about. You hear all sorts of things, right? Some say it’s paradise, others reckon it’s just a big, noisy pool. I figured, well, I gotta see this thing with my own eyes. So, last Tuesday, I cleared my schedule and went for it.
Getting In and First Impressions
Getting there was easy enough, just a quick ride. The place itself? Massive. Seriously, it looked more like a fancy resort from the outside than just a spa. Stepped into the lobby, and whoa, it was all gleaming floors and fancy lights. Pretty swanky, I’ll give ’em that. The check-in was pretty straightforward. They tried to sell me on all these extra packages, you know, the usual spiel. I just went for the basic entry – wanted to scope the place out first before committing to more.

The Changing Room Saga
They slap one of those electronic wristbands on you, the kind that opens your locker and lets you buy stuff inside without cash. Smart, I guess. The changing room was enormous, just endless rows of lockers. Felt a bit like being in a sports stadium locker room, but cleaner, thankfully. Grabbed my robe and slippers, the standard issue stuff. Felt a bit like I was about to embark on an expedition.
Into the Watery Depths
So, then I headed into the main spa area, the “water zone” as they probably call it. It was quite a sight. They had a bunch of different pools:
- Several large pools, each a different temperature. That was nice. One was supposed to be a “hydrotherapy” pool with all sorts of jets. Found a few good ones that really worked my shoulders.
- A couple of smaller, super hot tubs. Good for a quick dip, but they got crowded fast, even on a weekday.
- The usual steam rooms and saunas. Gave both a whirl. The steam room was like walking into a cloud, really steamy. The sauna was more my kind of thing, dry heat.
They also had this “ice grotto” or something. Popped my head in, felt the chill, and noped right out of there. Brrr! Not for me, that. Some folks were dashing between the hot sauna and the ice room. Crazy, if you ask me. I just like to stay warm and comfy.

The Treatment – Did It Hit the Spot?
After soaking for a good while, I thought, “Why not get a massage?” They had this whole menu of options, looked like a restaurant menu. I picked a traditional body massage, thinking it would be relaxing. Well, the therapist was definitely strong. Too strong, maybe. There were moments I was gritting my teeth more than unwinding. But hey, some people are into that really deep, almost painful, kind of massage. I probably should’ve said something, asked her to ease up a bit. Next time, eh? If I decide to get another one there, that is.
Lounging and Munchies
Apart from the water stuff, they had these big relaxation lounges. Comfy chairs, dim lighting, some had TVs. I spent a good hour there just chilling out, reading a bit on my phone. They also had a food area, like a mini food court. Juices, snacks, even proper meals. I just had some fruit and a cup of tea. Prices were a bit on the high side, but that’s expected in these places, isn’t it?

So, What’s the Verdict?
Leaving the place, I felt pretty good. Definitely cleaner, a bit more loosened up. But also, it was a lot to take in. The sheer size of it all. You could easily kill a whole day there if you wanted to. Is it the best spa experience I’ve ever had? Nah, probably not. But for the variety of things to do under one roof, it’s quite something. If you like those big, bustling, all-in-one spa centers, then yeah, it’s worth checking out. Just be ready for it to be busy, and maybe be a bit clearer with your massage therapist than I was! I might go back just for the pools and saunas, skip the pricier treatments. That part felt like decent value. It’s an experience, for sure.
