Alright, so I’d been hearing whispers about this supposedly massive sauna and spa place in Foshan. You know how it is, folks talk, say it’s the biggest, the best, all that jazz. I was feeling pretty run down from the week, just ground down to a nub, really. So, I figured, what the heck, let’s go see what all the fuss is about. Needed a proper break.
First Impressions and Getting In
So, I drove over there on a Saturday. Took a bit to find parking, place was already looking kinda busy from the outside. And yeah, it was big. Like, really sprawling. You walk in, and the lobby itself is pretty grand, lots of shiny stuff, people milling about. Went up to the counter, a bit of a line, but it moved okay. Got my electronic wristband thing – you know, the kind that opens your locker and you use to pay for stuff inside. Standard procedure for these big places.
They pointed me towards the men’s changing rooms. It was a huge area, rows and rows of lockers. Found mine, got changed into the shorts and top they give you. Place was clean, which is always a big plus for me. Can’t relax if things feel grimy, you know?
Diving into the Experience
First thing I did was scope out the main bathing area. And man, it was impressive. They had all sorts of pools. Big main pool, not for swimming laps really, more for just soaking and lounging. Then there were smaller ones: a super hot one, a cold plunge (bracing, that one!), and a couple with jets and bubbles. I hopped into a warmish one first, just to ease in.
After a good soak, I decided to hit the saunas. They had a few different types.
- A traditional dry sauna, Finnish style, got real hot. Loved that.
- A steam room, which was like walking into a cloud. Good for the lungs, I reckon.
- And some other fancy ones, like an “amethyst room” or something, a bit cooler, more for just chilling.
I spent a good while sweating it out in the dry sauna, then did a quick, brave dip in the cold plunge. Wakes you right up, I tell ya!

More Than Just Water
Once I was done with the serious business of soaking and steaming, I explored a bit more. This place wasn’t just pools and saunas. They had these massive lounge areas. Huge comfy recliner chairs, each with its own little TV. Loads of people were just zonked out, sleeping or watching stuff. I found an empty one, leaned back, and just drifted for a bit. It was surprisingly quiet in that section, despite the number of people.
They also had food and drink options, of course. Saw a juice bar, and a bigger restaurant area. I just grabbed a bottle of water with my wristband, wasn’t really in the mood for a full meal. But good to know it’s there if you plan to spend the whole day, which you easily could.
The Verdict?
I probably spent a good four or five hours there in total. By the time I left, I felt like a completely different person. All that tension from the week had just sort of… melted away. My muscles were loose, my mind was clear. It was exactly what I needed.
Was it the absolute biggest? Who knows, and who really cares? It was certainly big enough, with plenty to do. For a day of just pure relaxation and switching off, it totally hit the spot. I paid up at the end using the wristband, got changed, and headed out feeling properly refreshed. Definitely would go back next time I’m feeling like a wrung-out dish rag. Sometimes you just gotta treat yourself, right?
